Econet Group, which is specialized in water sector, participated in the Business Delegation visit to China led by Prime Minister Juha Sipilä. At the same time, Dewaco Ltd, a member of Econet Group, signed up three distribution agreements and one service agreement with Chinese companies. In addition, contracts for five equipment deliveries were signed. Dewaco's target is to double turnover in China this year with a new strategy.
- We are now in the middle of the year, and in these visions we are going to reach our goal, "says Dewaco's plant manager Jari Virtanen.
Restructuring of China's business model is part of Dewaco's new strategy to increase turnover to ten million euros.
China has potential in the wastewater purification market. There are usually several wastewater treatment plants in China's cities with a population of more than a million, and one treatment plant treats wastewater from one million or even two million inhabitants. A large defective wastewater treatment plant can cause serious environmental problems such as water pollution or odor disruptions in a wide area.
- China put’s a lot of efforts for environmental issues, and we have possibilities to share our experience in many respects. Access to the Chinese market also gives possibilities to great results in protecting the environment, says Virtanen.
Econet Smart Water also attracted interest during China's visit.
- Smart City concept leaders were very interested in the new combination meter. The first pilot of the meter may be installed in Smart City in China, says Econet’s Development Director, Antti Herlevi.
